Introducing Gaze. A curated video streaming channel. Each month, Gaze will release a new playlist of short videos created by emerging video creators. A collective of short videos revolves around a shared idea, concept, or theme. A community-inspired website celebrating the people and providing a platform for video creators to share their work and engage with like-minded people.

Creative Direction
We took inspiration from websites with lines and grids, engaging split screens, and little bit of a playful layout. As much as we want our website to be memorable, we also want the site to be where our community’s video stands out and accommodates any video style.
Target audience
Gaze website aimed at youth, aged 12-25 who are inspired to be part of a community of passionate storytellers who don’t mind falling down the moving rabbit hole of raw inspiration, poetic perspectives, and real gazes of other video creators.
(credit - some of the pieces of these copy are inspired by Solaia Suherman (Gaze Founder)’s words when she filled the discovery questionnaire). And by “we” in this page, I am referring to me (the designer) and Solaia (client, and the amazing vision behind Gaze)
The logo is inspired by the action of gazing. Looking up in admiration, to the sky, to the source of rays - be inspired. A light with a halo from the lens creates a magical effect like a movement, a story.
Our colors remain neutral with light grey and black. Add yellow as the highlight or hover effect within the site for fun!
The Challenges
User Experience and Content Management System: As a community-based website, this site will host a growing content.
The site should be able to showcase a growing content, anticipate the categories for easy grouping.
This is a video community website, a scroll and watch experience without leaving the site is a must. So I add a pop-up plugin here to make this possible with the videos independently sourced from Youtube or Vimeo.
Create space to highlight the video creator. The site is now too early to showcase this, but we’ve come prepared.

The archive page will list the playlist (or categories) of the submitted videos, and will anchor-link to the respective section on another page.
Our community highlight. As for now (jan12 2023) this section is hidden. But when as the site and the community grows, this section/page is ready to go.
